Sonia & Ben at Stone Mountain USA...What a holiday! |
This is the third newsletter about & from Ben, Sonia, Beau, Hannah & Ellie. Although we have recently moved,we are still living in Caloundra. Our new house is very open & spacious & suits us much better than the small unit we were living in. We now also have a huge backyard with 6ft fences all around, & the kids love it! For our new address & number, email us! :) Our most recent news is that we travelled over to the USA in March for two weeks. It was a fantastic trip. We spent around 21-24 hours in flight (with free alcoholic bevs on the international flight!). It was hard to leave the 3 little 'uns, as they didn't come with us, but stayed with their granny. That made it easier on us as we knew they'd be well looked after & be spoilt with time & attention while we were gone. We stayed at a friend's place in Georgia, named Christine. Chris was a great host & drove us everywhere to show us around her neck of the woods. We also visited Stone Mountain (see picture left). We came back with so many gifts for others as well as our kids & managed to buy ourselves an SLR camera (for a great price) & also scored a digital camera as well as many other things. This was our first trip overseas, & definately not our last! (We've caught the bug!). We are currently saving to go to Thailand after Christmas, & may even be travelling back over to Georgia, USA for a year 2000 cool christmas. We'll see.... As for myself I'm still working on The Stepparenting Connection internet site, & am President of the Austrailan area, while Christine is President of the USA area. We hope to improve support for stepparents & stepfamilies on a global scale as there are limited services available. I also take Go-Kan-Ru Karate classes with my son Beau & still take care of the 3 kids while Ben works outside our home. Ben is working for the Ambulance Service now, & is loving it. He does work away from home & so when he finishes his shifts, we're usually travelling on his days off to visit his family in Redcliffe (50 mins away) or my family in Byron Bay (3 hours away). Other times we just spend time outside, flower gardening & trying to get our own vegie garden to grow! (The kids enjoy it).

Hannah is now four after celebrating her birthday in June. She ended up having three parties...one here at home...one at Granny's...& one at her nan's. Three cakes, & lots of pressies!! Of course she didn't mind! Han still attends kindy & starts preschool next year. I can't tell you how much she loves her classes, & mothers a lot of the newcomers to her class. I'm sure she'll miss them next year, but she'll be on to something bigger & better. Han has also been going to Gymnastic classes, & she excels. She has so much energy & after her classes, she usually exhausted! Han's gone off her dolls at the moment & has more of an interest in activities, but she does still love her barbies. Beau (sorry there's no photo!) is 6 & is growing into such a beautiful person. He's really blossomed lately, & is kind, considerate & extremely smart asking his dad & I questions that we don't really know the answers to ourselves! He loves reading so his uncle, or his dad or i sit with him every night to improve his word skills. He also does typing & can type 11 wrds per minute...which I think is pretty good for a 6 year old. He can only get better! He'll be finished Grade one this year in December. Beau is also learning Karate with myself, his Uncle Tim & his girlfriend Sandy. Tim & Sandy live with us till they get financially on their feet (they're only 18 years old & starting out). It's been 7 months now, & at first I was nervous that we'd clash, but that hasn't happened, & it will be a sad time when they move out. The kids love having them around & so do Ben & I. :) Love you guys!! | Hannah at home with her Barbies.

Our fairy, Ellie. |
Our Little Ellie is getting bigger! She will be 2 in September....where did that time go? Ellie calls herself 'Enny' & can tell you what she wants. She repeats just about everything we say, so she picks up words easily. She can count to ten, & we're currently working on colours, although every time I say 'orange' she says 'apple'! Ellie certainly has her own style & has a gentle yet stubborn nature. She has great manners & says 'wupease' (yes please) & 'tanks' (thanks when she's meant to. Ellie doesn't go to daycare, so she usually hangs with her mum & her uncle in the day. I swear we know every kids park in the area! That's it from us here...that's our current life story. Thanks for visiting, & we hoped you enjoyed reading & seeing pictures of our kids as much as we love seeing them! Bye!
